Product Description

About Product

Basagran by BASF is a contact, selective post-emergence herbicide based on Bentazone 48% SL, designed to control broadleaf weeds and sedges in crops like rice, soybean, maize, and pulses.
It is especially useful where grassy weeds are not a major concern but broadleaf weeds and sedges threaten yield. Basagran acts quickly on the foliage of susceptible weeds, making it an excellent option for spot or directed spraying.

Basagran Technical Details

  • Technical Content: Bentazone 48% SL

  • Formulation: Soluble Liquid (SL)

  • Mode of Action: Inhibits photosystem II in weeds, stopping photosynthesis and causing cellular destruction in target plants.

  • Entry: Contact action – absorbed by leaves; not systemic.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Contact herbicide – fast action on visible weed parts.

  • Specifically targets broadleaf weeds and sedges (Cyperus, Commelina, Amaranthus, etc.).

  • Safe for many crops when applied as per recommended stage and dose.

  • Suitable for directed spray in wide-row crops like groundnut and pulses.

  • Minimal residual activity – safe for following crops in rotation.

  • Compatible with various tank-mix partners for expanded control (compatibility test recommended).
